HOW TO FIND ONE BECKSIDE
For directions to Staithes, click on the link on the map or button above. Then leave the A174 from Whitby or Redcar turning left/right into Staithes.
Follow the road down the bank, through the sign saying no visitor parking and follow the road down the hill. Half way down on the left you will see the Bethel Chapel.
Turn sharp left opposite and follow the road round to the right. The “Longhouse” (white) will be on your left, with One Beckside is the third cottage down on the same side.
There are no parking spaces on the streets of the old village but you can pull up outside the cottage and unload before returning to the parking area at the top of the bank.
PARKING IN STAITHES
Free Parking Permit at Bank Top Car Park. Our guests can enjoy free parking for one car at Bank Top Car Park, the village's public car park, operated by Scarborough Borough Council. It is at the top of the hill at Staithes Lane, (TS13 5AD). For additional cars, please see below
Guests should take their car down to the cottage to unload and our parking permit will be ready to collect. Please display this in your windscreen when you return to the car park. Cars should not be parked in the bays marked for residents.
The permit should be returned to the cottage prior to departure for other guests to use. Failure to do so will incure a £50 charge.
NB. Whilst we provide this permit free to our guests there is no guarantee that you will find a parking space, especially at busy times. The permit is not required between November 1 and February 28.
Normal charges: £2.20 = 1 hour; £3.30 = 2 hours; £4.40 = 4 hours; £5 = 6 hours; £6 = 24 hours. High Season (1st March to 31st October). Others times currently free.
Glen Vale Car Park is the closest parking solution to the old village. This private car park is situated behind 78 Staithes Lane (TS13 5AD) in a secluded location and has around 60 parking bays available to rent for the duration of your stay. See website for prices.
